About our Program
The Greenwood College Intensive English Centre (IEC) assists students from non-English speaking backgrounds transition into mainstream Australian high schools. The IEC give students an introduction into Australian culture, offering swimming lessons and other learning opportunities.

To apply for enrolment students must be of non-English speaking backgrounds and holders of an eligible Australian VISA. To place students in the right class for their English level reading, writing, speaking and listening skills will be assessed. The IEC will provide general information about the Australian high school system and pathways into mainstream Australian schools.
To assist in the enrolment procedure we have staff fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi, Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, Macedonian and Italian. We can arrange an on-call interpreter service if another language is required.

Our comprehensive curriculum is delivered through key learning areas:

Science
Society and Environment
Students at the Intensive English Centre also participate in subjects such as Art, Dance, Computing Skills, and Physical Education. Each unit is aligned to the National Australian Curriculum and delivered with an emphasis on English literacy and language acquisition. The Intensive English Centre provides ongoing ESL support to students who have graduated from the IEC and entered the mainstream school.
